Dish on footring, upturned sides with a sharp edge above the foot. Kiln-sand and flecks of iron on the flattened footring. Decorated in underglaze blue with a Chinese text in a radial configuration around a central text. On the base the four-character mark Bhao Zhu li ji (Mark of Bao Zhuli) The text starts top left of the small leaf and ends in the middle of the dish. It is an anonymous non-rhyming heptametric poem partly written in simplified Chinese characters (jiantizi). It comprises 312 characters, which can be broken down into 52 lines of six. Unlike the heptametric structure assumed below however, hexametry does not produce a readable text. The heptametric interpretation leaves the four final characters of the text untranslated. The poem translates as follows: Het regende die winternacht in Lianjiang, Ik bracht mijn gast een eind op weg naar Wu. In Luoyang waren wij de beste vrienden, En eensgezind schreven wij poezie. Bij deze poort, alweer een jaar geleden, Bloosden de mensen als een perziktree. Hoe het ook zij with mensen en gezichten: De perzikbloesems bloeien elk jaar weer.
