Plate on footring, flat rim. Famille rose, decorated in dark pink, green, yellow, blue and iron-red with two winged putti holding a lotus scroll that forms a heart-shaped medallion, a lotus within. The scrolls meet at the top in a lotus flower with a crown above it. On the rim panels with pink diamond-work surrounded by undulating lotus scrolls. The reverse is undecorated. Brown rim. This hybrid decoration is remarkable. The two putti are obviously derived from a European example, but are combined here with Chinese lotus scrolls, which form a heart-shaped panel with a crown above it in a symmetrical, Western way. One would expect to see a coat of arms, initials or a mirrored monogram painted in the panel; otherwise it has little meaning and is only decorative. A small saucer with the same centre-decoration but a different rim is in the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels (Jörg), which may indicate the existence of both a dinner service and a tea and coffee service.
