Snuff-bottle

Witte porseleinen snuff-bottle met een landschap- en vogeldecor.

Porcelain, of large rounded form tapering towards the foot, the body covered in a translucent white glaze and enamelled on one side with a tropical bird perched on a branch, the other side with dwellings on stilts protected by pine trees on a rock and a mountain nearby. The base with four character mark in iron red which reads 'Qianlong nianzhi' (made during the Qianlong period) but Chinese, late 19th century.
